Peak district walking festival :

Returning for 2021 – Tissington TBA (normally May)

The Rustick mini festival is a 2 day event in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

Join the NWUK team for technique workshops, equipment reviews and social fun at the exclusive Tissington Hall a Jacobean manor House that sits within its own idyllic Village and Estate.

Based just outside Ashbourne, this stunning Estate is the perfect gateway to walks in areas of outstanding beauty such as the iconic Dovedale and of course the Tissington trail itself.

Will update this site for the next walking related national events.

A couple of friends have recently completed sponsored walks, if you are interested in sponsoring them please read below:

Emma and Irene made it, well done to the both of you.  Walking for Alzheimers Society

Mum and I will be walking 26 miles across the beautiful North East coast from Beadnall to Lindisfarne in aid of Alzheimers Society and in memory of Gran.
When someone you know is diagnosed with dementia it can be a frightening and devastating experience. Alzheimer’s Society supports people, and their families, to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow. Dementia is caused by diseases of the brain and can affect anyone.
There are currently over 750,000 people with dementia in the UK, and this figure will rise to over 1 million by 2025. Dementia is terminal and there is no cure. If you are able to support us, and this very worthwhile cause, please click on the link below. http://www.justgiving.com/EmmaandIrene
Despite everything the British weather is throwing at us, training is going well and we are up to 18 ish miles now. We have 2 months left to go so fingers crossed for some good weather!!

Joanna made it, she completed 28 miles, walking for The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust UK raising £350.  Well done Jo!

I have decided to do something useful and I am going to walk between Brampton and Bowness on Solway along Hadrian’s Wall which is 26-28 miles on Saturday 28th July.  If the rain doesn’t go away I may either swim or hire a boat.

I’ve attached the sponsor form I’ve created for my work colleagues which gives you a bit more information. Please visit www.durrell.org to find out about the wonderful work carried out in Gerald Durrell’s name.  Look on the ‘About’ section for Geralds’ biography and read his book ‘My Family & Other Animals’ it’ll cheer you up and explain why I think this is such a brilliant cause. This charity supports conservation projects in Jersey and Overseas which continues the work of our great predecessor, Gerald Durrell, and helps to save endangered species which would otherwise become extinct.
Please be generous and go to www.justgiving.com/Joanna-Breakwell to make a donation for this brilliant cause.
